My how the years have flown by

So my 20 yr reunion is just around the corner...July 17-19 weekend. I seriously can't believe it's been 20 yrs since highschool. The best thing is that I have kept in touch with quite a few people and now with MySpace and email and other methods, I have reconnected with so many more people. I dug up some pictures that I thought would be fun to share!

Myself, Kate, Kelli and Becky at Homecoming in 1988

  1. You still look great! At least you didn't have the 80's girl mullet like me!

It's crazy how fast the years go by the older we get...have a great time! I had my 20 year in 2005 (yep I'm an 80's girl too!) and had sooo much fun!

Don't forget to take tons of pics...especially any old crushes, it's funny to see how much they've changed!

  4. Isn't it scary how the 80's style is trying to return?! I had big hair, leg warmers, twistabeads and parachute pants. I even had the Michael Jackson jacket! LOL

  5. But I love the whole flipped up collar thing! I still do it now.... is this a bad thing?

  10. Whoa. How did you manage to get through the 80's with cute hair? You look fabulous. Then and now.

  11. I second that...getting through the 80's with cute hair? Unheard of.

AND you still look awesome to boot!

  13. Woo! Man, I have a huge soft spot for the big hair and bad fashions of the late 80s... probably because I was class of '89 myself! :D Yep, that means *my* 20th reunion is coming up in May. How did we get so....so.....so OLD?!?! I mean, we're like totally grown-ups now, you know? EEK!

    Cheers!

  16. Every time I see '80s photos, I am brought right back to high school!

Big hair, big shoulder pads, upturned collars, techno pop music ... what were we thinking?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't miss the hair or fashions, but I do love that you were/are able to stay in touch. :D

  18. You looked (and still do look) awesome. I just went to my hubby's 20th and they looked great too.

  24. Enjoy your reunion! Mine was in April and we had a great time. Unlike you I am not brave enough to post picutures from that time in my life!

    ReplyDelete
  25. You're a brave, brave woman. LOL
I don't think I could pull my h.s. pix out AND post. *shudder*

    The popped collar is classic!

  28. I love the dresses :)

  29. I think your pictures look really pretty! I wish the girls still wore those pretty, frothy dresses. Today's styles are meant to be "hot," not young and fresh. I hope your reunion is great!

  30. The gloves were just the best! Loved 'em! And I think the term "better with age" applies here---you three really do look better 20 years down the road!

    Happy SITS day :)!

  39. I think the popped collar is making a comeback... ! I have to admit it makes me giggle everytime I see some 17 year old boy in his pink polo shirt with a popped collar and spikey hair, though.

  45. Those are some great pictures! Isn't it funny how you feel so mature at the time. The you look back and realize that you were SUCH a baby and didn't even know it.

Love the hair and those dresses.

  46. Girl, the dress and the hair are FAB!

    ReplyDelete
  47. It sure is amazing how fast the time goes by. My 20 yr was last year. Missed it though. I don't feel like I'm old enough to have been out of HS for 20years!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Looks like you had fun though! Hapy SITS day!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I loved the 80's...and you had great hair, honestly. Usually you see terrible hair-dos of that era but, not you...lovely. I love the prom dresses!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well Maverick, it appears formal dresses didn't change all that much after I graduated in '82... I see the 'Ball Gown' look was still in with a lot of ruffles and satin. And the hair, Oh Yes, the hair!
    Over and out!
    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  51. My husband graduated in 88 too, and we were going through his old yearbook this summer, laughing at the hair and fashions that were "so cool" once upon a time! Honestly though, you have the best 80's hair I've seen-your senior pictures are very pretty. The homecoming picture brought back memories of my peach saatin & lace Jessica McClintock formal dress! :)

  52. 1988, I was in the process of getting a divorce from a terrible abusive ex! I moved from CA back to my home in FL! All I took was two kids 1/12 and 4 1/2 along with three randomly packed suitcases! I feel like I missed the whole decade of the 1980's!

Congrats on being spotlighted on Sista's! Big hugs to you, raising two kids alone is not easy!

    ReplyDelete
  53. You girls were rocking that lace! You remind me of 80s teen movie stars in those pics. You so could have been one :) My 15th would be this year. It's going too fast b/c I still feel like I just graduated...

  54. Love the dresses. Time does fly by. I'm glad some of the days are gone like the pegged pants thing. I hated that!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wow...those were the days!! Congrautlations on your SITS Day!

    ReplyDelete
  56. What a cutie you are! Those dresses are fantastic!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I still put my collar up once in a while in the morning... just to bring back memories. I always put it back down before I leave the house. But, haha... I loved the 80s.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I LOVE your 87 Homecoming dress. I'd wear it now (if I had an occasion)! Happy SITS day!

    ReplyDelete
  59. You guys are CUTE! I love the 80's pics and I LOVE that you all are still friends. Really cute post.

  60. It seems surreal to think that I have been out of school for 20 years...I can't tell you how many of the "boys" are bald...if only we could tell our 16 yrold selves that those guys are not worth the tears...Great blog

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  68. Funny how I remember those 80s styles only because of the TV shows I used to watch. I apologize to inform you, I was in elementary school in the 80s!! heehee!!
