Un-motivation

I have no motivation to do anything...blah!! I hate the Aunt that stops by when not needed if you catch my drift ladies?!?!?

I did however buy a cool new backpack today. A backpack you say? Well on my last work trip my shoulder started killing me after lugging around my super cute laptop bag so I vowed I would be buying a different one. I also have a perfect size camera bag for my cool new Cannon Rebel but the issue is...for my upcoming trip I want to take both my camera and my laptop but can't really take both my laptop bag, my camera bag and a purse as carry ons...the airlines don't like that. Plus for future trips I'll be dealing with the same thing so I splurged and with help from Matt, I found the best one. I got a Lowepro Fastpack 250. Now I did NOT pay what that website shows...heck no! I got one on eBay for lots less plus free shipping :)

That is all for today!

Vacation booked...check

I did it, I got everything booked! We fly out on Wednesday Oct 15th. We leave at like 7am so we will have a full first day. When we get there, we will head straight up to the mountains. Estes Park here we come!! We are staying at the cutest cabin. Here are some pictures from the website. Yea I splurged and got one with a private hot tub!

We are spending Wednesday and Thursday nights at the cabin and then on Friday we will head down to be closer to my brother and his family. I got us a room at a hotel with an indoor pool for Friday and Saturday nights. We will do things with them and also get to see my youngest nephews soccer game. We are then flying home Sunday morning. The kids are so flippin excited :)

This weekend was pretty fun. Didn't do much Friday night, Saturday had volleyball (went 2-2), Saturday night Kyler went to Grandma's and Miranda had 2 friends spend the night. Today was a sad sad day...my Broncos were beaten by the Chiefs. Ugh! I have nothing more to say about that...LOL

Family Vacation

So I'm gonna do it..

I have been debating on another family vacation even though we just took one to Arkansas this summer. Not a BIG one like where you go for a week and spend a gabillon dollars. I want to do that don't get me wrong, but that is going to take some planning and saving of the dollars LOL

I am going to take the kids to Colorado. It's hard for me to think of this as a vacation because Colorado is my home, it's where I was born, it's where my brother and his family live. The kids have been to Colorado numerous times in their short life span.

But this is going to be different. We are going to fly there. The kids have never flown. I am thinking about getting a cabin up in Estes Park for a couple nights. They have never been there. We will go to Rocky Mountain National Park. They have never been there. We will go hiking in the mountains. They have never done that.

When we've gone before, it's to see family and have either stayed with them or in a hotel close to them. We've made the occasional trip to Vail too. We will see and spend time with my brother and his family of course but this trip is for us, my kiddos and I.

Now that I know I am going to do this and have gotten the approval for vacation days, the fun of planning and booking things can start!!!

I want to and WILL make memories with my kids that they will remember forever :)

Another Game

I finally got to go to another one of Kyler's football games. Between him being sick, me traveling and him being on the JV team, it's been awhile! They lost 0-12 but they had two touchdowns called back so in his eyes, they really won LOL

It was pretty hot today when they played at 4pm so I kept taking pictures of him when he was drinking hehe. Here are just a few of them.

Then Kyler made a good play so his coach was praising him. The second one cracks me up, I caught him flying over another kid!

I took some of Miranda when she was least expecting it either or didn't know :)

The other team's cheerleaders wore mis matched funky socks...didn't quite understand why but oh well.

Detention

We are back to rain...ugh! We have had so much rain here lately. Yesterday was beautiful luckily for Kyler's football game and I hope tomorrow is back to being nice again because there is another football game.

So Kyler got his first detention of the year yesterday. I'm a little miffed however about it. I got a call from his science teacher at 4pm as I was on my way out the door to the game. She told me that Kyler ate the gummy bears they were using for an experiment AFTER they were done with it. I was like...ok? Then she said this was his third incident and that on the third, they get detention and a call home. I proceeded to ask when the other two were and she said they were at various times prior to today. I told her that I knew nothing about the previous two...grrr. So either it was up to Kyler to tell me or up to him to know he's been warned. Then she said that he didn't do the detention that day because of the game (so I'm thinking...ok not THAT big of deal then) so he will do it today. The football players get it worse because not only do they do detention....the coaches make them do extremely hard drills AFTER practice is over when they are wore out. I got to the game and was telling another mom about it and she was thinking the same as me...because of a gummy bear? Then another dad said his son got a detention from the same teacher that day too for getting up out of his seat when he wasn't supposed to. Then I found out 2 other kids got it as well. I'm thinking this teacher had a bad day and wasn't taking anything lightly!! Yes, I know these are 7th graders and they know better but sheesh!!

I'm here, I swear

I think I am back to reality finally. What a crazy week and weekend. Friday night I completely vegged out and caught up on my DVR shows. Plus the doggies were SO happy to see me, I couldn't leave them again!

Saturday was Miranda's volleyball games. We won 1 lost 3, eh oh well I think we are improving! That afternoon, Miranda and I along with Jen and Nacie road tripped 'to the city' to meet up with Jess to go to the Mission Arts and Eats. My good friend Matt had a booth of his photography work set up. It was his first show and I was so proud of him. I bought an awesome print of the Colorado mountains and Miranda picked out a really pretty print of a close up of pink leaves.

Saturday night I went to a birthday party with Jen. Whew it was a mexican theme and can I just say...homemade margaritas are the bomb!!! Yum yum yum! It was a lot of fun!!

Sunday was a day of cleaning and laundry and FOOTBALL!! My Broncos kicked butt again, they are 3-0 now!!! At half time the doggies and I got in the car to go play with the camera. I had seen some sunflowers I wanted to shoot so I did that and then also went to the lake in town and took a few. I let the dogs run around while I was taking pictures and they had a blast. We have a new tower right by the schools that I used my new lens to get super close to. The kiddos came back that night and we are back in the swing of another work week BLAH!!!

PS. I am still working on catching up on all the comments from my featured blogger day...I promise I will get to everyone :)

My 100th Post

I can't believe I have completed 100 posts in such a short period of time!!! Since I was the featured blogger just the other day, you got to see three of my favorite posts but I thought I'd throw a few more out there. I chose my favorite blog from each month I have been blogging.

March Blog #1 - this is just one of pictures of the kids, just cracks me up!

April Blog #2 - I really wanted to come up with a list of 100 things about me...ain't gonna happen so here's a mini version

May Blog #3 - some pretty pictures of the flowers in my yard

June Blog #4 - since I chose my 80's flashback for the SITS post, here is one of my kiddos way back when

July Blog #5 - my fav pictures from our Arkansas trip this summer

August Blog #6 - a fun weekend

September Blog # 7 - befores and afters of all the work I have done on my house over the past year

Now since I am here, I thought I'd post some of the pictures I took while in San Francisco for work this week. I was able to make it to Fisherman's Wharf last night and it is one of my favorite places to visit. I wish I had more time there!!! I did not take my new Cannon Rebel, I had enough to carry so these were shot with my Kodak Easy Share.

This one is of the Oakland Bay Bridge. This was the bridge that collapsed during the 1989 earthquake.
Sea lions LOVE pier 39! There were TONS of them as you can see.

I turned and took a couple of shots toward the city.

Ahhh the Golden Gate Bridge

That is Alcatraz wayyyyy out there

There is a huge aquarium on the pier. I loved this mural.

Tons of boats in the harbour.
If you've never been....I highly recommend it :)

*blushes* Awe shucks....I'm SAUCY :)

I am honored to be the Featured Blogger today, thank you ladies!! If your not familiar with the awesome site called The Secret is in The Sauce, you MUST check it out!! It is a wonderful group of bloggers that pride themself on supporting one another by leaving comments on each others blogs...I mean lots of comments.

To those of you that know of SITS, WELCOME to my blog :) I am a single mother of two wonderful kids and two sweet doggies. I love to blog about my family life, the crazy things my kids do as well as bragging about them sometimes. I like to think of myself as 'a cool fun mom' that loves to be involved in school and sports activites. My house is the hang out place for my kiddos and their friends.

I cannot wait to read everyone's comments and I promise I will get back to everyone that leaves one. I travel often for work and I will be traveling Wed-Fri this week but heck, this will give me something to do in the evenings from my hotel room right???

*mwah* much internet love to all!

Awe thanks :)

Thank you Nichole :)
To translate the gift from Portuguese to English, it means:"This blog invests and believes, the proximity"[meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy]

I love it!!! I just received this gift from Frizzy

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?"Then let's try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers
that in turn must make the same thing and put this text:

So, here are my 8 bloggers who will receive this award from me:

Jess
Lisa
Crystal
Karin
Sheri
Carrie
Melody
Zander's Mommy

Now go spread some love to these wonderful ladies!

One more day before crazy traveling

What a crazy Monday night football game huh? After the second week of my Yahoo Pro Pick'em here is how the kiddos and I rank out of a total of 18 playing. Ranking is based on number of games correct as a running total, not just how you did for the current week.

Me - in a 2 way tie for 2nd (10 of 15 right this week)
Kyler - in a 3 way tie for 11th (7 of 15 right this week)
Miranda - 17th (7 of 15 right this week)

Here are some more fun stats...

I joined Yahoo personals on the 1th. I've had 85 views on my profile. Have had 2 scary 'winks' Ugh

I joined Match.com on the 12th. I've had 93 views on my profile. Have only had 1 contact and I swear the profile was fake.

Is it time to give up yet?? LOL Or maybe I need to be agressive and make the first cyber move?

Happy Monday

Can Mondays be happy?

I'm still a little rough from yesterday. The kids and I went to Jen's for a Chiefs party. I consumed a couple adult beverages throughout the day and I went to bed at 9pm LOL My Broncos won again though YAY!!! I'll post our rankings from my Yahoo Pro Pickem tomorrow after the Monday night game.

I am up for another crazy week this week. I am doing some traveling for work again (god help me) to do some client training with Google in San Francisco. Let's pray it doesn't go like my training in New Jersey for Hertz in July!!! I fly out Wednesday morning and back on Friday. Since I wil be in one location this time, maybe I'll be able to get out at night and see some things :)

It will be the first time I board Maddie, I hope she does ok. I think they are going to be able to keep her and Kasey in the same kennel. Poor puppies but I just can't leave them at home and hope someone can come and let them out. I know Jen would I don't want to have some one have to do that. Plus Maddie is on some meds so it will be easier for the vet to do it anyways.

I have a sick boy at home. Kyler has a bad sore throat. I hope he feels better so that he can play in his football game tomorrow!!

It's the girl's time now...

First off...let me publicly say THANK YOU to Jess for my wonderful Happy Bunny present. If you press the hand, it says what's on the shirt 'Boys Lie and Kind of Stink'

I puffy heart it!!!

Miranda's volleyball team is now 5-3. We won 3 and lost 1 today. We are getting better! Here are some pictures that Jess took while watching us. I hope we impressed her LOL

Last night Miranda and I hung out with Jen and her daughter Nacie while the boys, Kyler and Laike, went to a party. Eek 7th grade boy/girl parties...that's a whole different post! The girls decided to 'cook' for us.

Our first course consisted of lime koolaid which sugar on the rim of the glass topped with slices of cucumber along with some chips, cheese and salsa. In the salsa was cheese and hot dogs.

We couldn't handle the second course...it was bananas and cucumbers cut up in a bowl together with sugar sprinkled on it...ewe. God love them girls!!!
